Slartibartfast sidles into the lounge, eyes darting this way and that. He looks at the carpet near his favourite chair -- it's quite clean. He goes to sit down, winces, fishes around inside his clothing and brings forth a cricket ball from a back pocket. He throws it across the room with startling accuracy, where it is fielded neatly by a battered England cap resting in his pigeonhole. Something catches his eye, and he wanders over to the pigeonholes, where he finds a couple of pieces of paper, each bearing the same handwriting. Replacing them, he mutters to himself under his breath ...

Cheese. Yes. Cheese, cheese, cheese.

... and he wanders out, heading for the library
