Spring Term Classes
Please respond to this post with your teaching status for the next semester (yay or nay) and, if yay, what classes you would like to teach.
There will be a limit of four classes per teacher this term. For each class, I need the following.
Course Name:
Course Description: Be extensive here. Include topics covered, class format, etc.
Course Summary: Something succinct.
Number of Sections: (up to 2 per course)
For each section (each section needs to cover two class periods -- adjoining class periods will be rare and by admin approval only) --
Preferred Time Slots: (Monday 7th Period and Wednesday 7th Period) list of class periods
Alternate Time Slot: (Tuesday 4th Period and Thursday 4th Period)
Capacity: How many students per? Keep it reasonable.
TA: Y/N
We need this information by December 9th. That gives you two weeks.

Questions for you :)
When is this due?
Will there be allowances for amending some material in the course descriptions after submitting the "application", or is will this be set in stone? I completely understand the goal of wanting to be able to get a schedule together and have a good idea of what will be taught. I just need more time to get them fully put together for what I have in mind, because I'm actually developing the classes with more depth this time around now that I have an idea of what works and what doesn't, and I was giving myself until the end of this semester to pull together the definitive syllabi.
I also wanted to poll and see what courses would be popular (I've narrowed down my choices) but I was waiting until Monday when players are back from vacations. So if you can give me until Wednesday, maybe?
Stop mocking my OCD right now, dork.Re: Questions for you :)
We just need a rough idea. We understand that courses morph over the term, but this is to essentially to see how prepared you are to discuss that topic, since previous classes have been handed out on the basis of an "I wanna do it." You won't need a complete syllabus turned in immediately -- no sense in prepping an entire course that hasn't been approved -- but we need a detailed idea of where you're going with it.

All of these will be limited enrollment as I would like to offer field trips on an occasional basis.
I'd like to continue to offer Photojournalism as an independant study, with homework and projects to coincide with the Advanced Journalism Class and/or the Student Newspaper. Photojournalism will be an extremely limited offering - no more than four students - and with a required weekly meeting to be overseen by myself or one of my Assistants.

As for adjoining class periods, they are possible, but by admin approval. They have a tendency to create scheduling issues.
