Teacher's Lounge : November 28, 2005

Bree enters the teacher's lounge early in the morning, a murderous brilliant smile on her face.

Upon having heard that the Principal is on a well-deserved vacation, she has prepared a special No Turkey Buffet, that includes any food you could imagine except for what is typically served on Thanksgiving.

There's some Chet Baker playing in the background for atmosphere, and real silverware and china. Bree does not fuck around when it comes to hosting anything.


[We haven't had one of these in a while, and I kind of miss them. Open to all teachers to interact with each other. Maybe we could trade off posting them now and again? Drop notes for when you'd like host over here. I can take Mondays?]

Jenny walks in, seeing the teacher's lounge open for once, and sits down with a plate of fruit. She starts up her laptop and goes back to coding the program she's been devising over the past few days.

[Jenny is the proud recipient of a charming smile.]

Jenny grins back at the Doctor. "Have a good Thanksgiving?" she asks.

It was brilliant! How was yours? [He gets up and acquires some more lemonade, then focuses his attention on her.]

"Oh, you know, the usual," says Jenny. "Some turkey, some sweet potatoes, a little pie. You go anywhere?"

We went to California. Was quite lovely, though cooler than you would think at this time of year. Saw some of the sights.

"California's a pretty cool state," said Jenny. "San Francisco, Los Angeles, or San Diego?"

San Francisco. [He squints at her.] Where are you from?

"Until recently?" Jenny grinned. "Bright and shiny Sunnydale, California, two hours outside of Los Angeles and home to the weirdest population on the planet outside of this place."

[Ten seems to remember hearing tell that Tara comes from Sunnydale. Other than being dead, Tara is quite possibly one of the more normal people he knows, but that doesn't discount the rest of the town.] I'll take your word for it. North or south?

"Southern California," says Jenny. "So, what subject do you teach?"

Oh. [He looks startled, realising he hadn't introduced himself and extends a hand for her to shake.] The Doctor. Quantum Physics.
