Teacher's Lounge : November 28, 2005

Bree enters the teacher's lounge early in the morning, a murderous brilliant smile on her face.

Upon having heard that the Principal is on a well-deserved vacation, she has prepared a special No Turkey Buffet, that includes any food you could imagine except for what is typically served on Thanksgiving.

There's some Chet Baker playing in the background for atmosphere, and real silverware and china. Bree does not fuck around when it comes to hosting anything.

[We haven't had one of these in a while, and I kind of miss them. Open to all teachers to interact with each other. Maybe we could trade off posting them now and again? Drop notes for when you'd like host over here. I can take Mondays?]

Don't know you entirely, but I know you well enough. [His smile is vaguely self-mocking, recalling their conversation on Friday.] And aye, most clever people DO resent being outwitted...[His eyes meet Methos' own.] Why do you think we get along the way we do?

[His voice softens and becomes quieter.] Adam, do you honestly think they're going to keep ignoring you?

[Methos grins back at him, recalling the same conversation.] Are you saying that one of us isn't clever? Because I am *so* clever.

[Methos takes the letter back and folds it.] No, I imagine that they'll hit me up for projects like this now and again. At least as long as this generation of Watchers still hate my guts for fooling them for so long. I suppose in thirty or forty years I'll be grand old uncle Methos, eccentric, but not the one who personally made them look like idiots.

[Tinge of nostalgia:] I really did enjoy the research work.

[A half smile and faux antagonism.] I'm far more clever than you, and you know it.
...I honestly don't think they're going to just let this go, Adam. Then again, since you're so brilliant, you could probably outwit any cunning plan they devise.
