"Jonathan Crane was a creepy kid," said Jenny. "I'm thinkin' he was on his way to being a textbook example of antisocial personality disorder. If he wasn't already there--which? He was." She frowned at the memory. "You should know, given that you might get stuck undoing any damage he caused. His favorite teacher? Was the psycho vampire I replaced."

"Anyway," said Jenny, moving on. "Yep, that's me. I'd say I have a pretty decent handle on the background."

OOC: Ooh, Susan's probably familiar with vampires, isn't she? At least as a relic of her time in Narnia--I'm positive I remember them being mentioned in LWW or PC--even if she still thinks it was a make-believe fairy land. And I also think Aslan should start talking to you through Jaye's lion.

"A psycho vampire?" Susan frowned. "As opposed to non-psycho ones, I would hope? I was rather shocked to find people referring to this Angel as 'nice', but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt." Because her own experience of vampires was probably entirely theoretical.

Probably.

She sighed. "I actually have a professional question for you, Jenny. One which I'm going to have to take to Dr. House, when he arrives today, but I'd like an opinion with regards to psychology as well. I've just discovered that I am now forty years out-of-date-- I'm from 1962, and while I've been trained in Jungian psychology, I'm also a certified psychiatrist. Do you think it's even *possible* that I'm qualified to remain here as a school counselor and therapist?"

[ooc: Yes, I'm pretty sure there were vampires of some kind in the White Queen's army. Su's wavering on the reality of Narnia, now. And if the wax lion talks, she's gonna flip. Heee.]

"Angel's a nice guy," confirmed Jenny. "But Drusilla's nuttier than your normal run of vampire, you know? Let me give you the whole run-down on the Angel/Angelus dichotomy some time, though. Totally necessary knowledge for anyone at this school, trust me on that one."

"Sixty-two?" asked Jenny, tilting her head and giving Susan's clothes a closer look. "And here I thought you were just going for a retro look." She grinned at Susan. "Good God, if they kicked out everyone at this school who was out of date, I'd be on the curb with you. I've been spending the last few months catching up on everything I've missed since 1998. Personally? Maybe I'm biased, but from what I can tell? The techniques haven't changed all that much. You just need to study up."

Susan sighed in relief. "I hope you're right. Obviously, a doctorate isn't usually required for a school counselor's job, but if I'm to be actively practicing as a therapist, I want to be current. I suppose I'd better ... no, I suppose I *can't* contact the American Psychologist's Association or the AMA about this. They'd just commit me."

She shook her head ruefully. "Do you have a subscription to the latest journals? That would probably be a good place to start. Oh, and do you know how I would get one of the new computer... things? Everyone seems to have them, and I believe I read that there's an 'internet' --whatever that is-- that might help me do research."

Susan laughed, a little helplessly. "After you tell me about vampires here. The learning curve to this job is proving to be rather steep."

"At least no one here is going to think you're nuts," said Jenny. "Let's face it, in this place? Normal is weird."

"I've got some journals," said Jenny. "Actually, I'm teaching a class on Jung this term, so I'd love to have you in as a guest speaker if you're up for it. You can stop by my office any time, or we can head out and check what's over at my apartment." She grinned happily. "Computers? You've just mentioned my favorite toys ever. Don't worry, I'll help you get set up on one of those and teach you about the internet. If you want?"

Jenny looked abashed. "You didn't know about the vampires?" she asked. "Sorry. It's kind of a big thing to be dumping on you all at once, y'know?"

"A few people did mention vampires, but no one said anything about any of them being psychotic. Just 'nice.' They really should have a pamphlet for all of this."

Susan smiled brightly back. "Brilliant! And I'd be happy to appear as a guest speaker. Just give me enough warning to have notes. I will talk to crowds, but only with notes. And I would *love* to hear about the internet. And I need to buy a cassette player at the Emporium-- Professor Camulus had one yesterday, and I'm determined to keep notes on it. My old one now appears sadly clunky and inconvenient."

"Oh, where are you living? I'm at the Mauvaise Chance apartments, are you nearby?"

Jenny's eyes widened. "Okay, what ~~moron~~ person didn't realize that Angel's the exception that proves the rule?" She shook her head. "Darla, Drusilla, and Spike. All vampires. All soulless killers. Angel? Has a soul. Long story. The short: Makes him a good guy. If he's without it? He's Angelus. You run as fast as you can and start praying he doesn't catch up. Or you put a wooden stake through his heart."

"So it's settled," said Jenny. "We'll order you a computer off the 'net--the internet. The Emporium's not gonna have anything specialized like you'll need. Or maybe like I think you oughta have to play with." She grinned unrepentantly. "Tech updates faster than ever these days. We'll get ourselves caught up, right?"

"Even better," said Jenny. "Turns out we're neighbors. I live up on the second floor. Adam--that's Dr. Pierson, our history teacher--and I started rooming together a while ago."

"Dr. Wilson, I think, and Mr. Phale? Neither mentioned creepy vampires. I appreciate the warning, though." Susan didn't think she could put a wooden stake through anyone's heart, but perhaps, from a distance, an arrow would still work. "And that would be smashing, Jenny. I am determined not to be any more of an anachronism than I can help." She brightened at the mention of the apartments. "Oh, really? That's perfect, then. Um. Are you, and Adam...?"

OOC: Also, forgot to say, we need to talk about Susan's reaction to finding out Jenny's a technopagan--which is basically a witch who uses computers. Given that the Narnian experience of witches is of them being half-giant spawn of Lilith, I'm wondering if Susan will freak out about Jenny potentially being inhuman and evil? Which would be FUN to play.

ooc: Yeah, we do, although she's already met Kiki and not freaked out. So it won't be able to be that bad. But the pagan part would at least make her very nervous, given her experiences. email me, we do plot.
