Lounge: 24 January

After a bit of negotiation with Biff (i.e. 'Of course, I'm the bloody Doctor, didn't you hear the bloody announcement? Yes, my hair is now red. Is that a PROBLEM?!'), the now ginger Doctor stumbles into the lounge this morning with multiple shopping bags.

They are filled with donuts and Coke and coffee and tea and...junk food, really. From both Britain and America.
And some fruits and vegetables cut up for those who don't fancy that sort of thing. losers With dips.

Ten minutes of fiddling with the sonic screwdriver and a bunch of swearing in multiple languages later, the TV now gets SkyOne, and he settles in to watch some trashy telly.

She shakes his hand firmly. "Yes, I teach war tactics. What languages do you teach?"

"This semester, Classics -- Latin and Greek -- and creature languages, such as Dragon and Spider. I taught European and Asian tongues as well last semester, but there seemed to be limited interest in continuing to offer them." He isn't sulking as he says this. Really. "And a survey course on the literature of different lands."

He raises his eyebrows on learnign what Eighth teaches. "Have you been in the military yourself, or is it strictly an academic interest?"

"Sounds fascinating. How many classes are you teaching then? Three?" she asks. "And Dragon... how very interesting. I'd love to look at any texts you using for the class."

At his question, she coughs slightly. "Yes, actually. I worked for the United States Air Force for a few years."

Dream shakes his head. "I prepare my own handouts for that class and my player fakes it with Wikipedia, usually the morning of, but you're welcome to stop by my office to review what I do have at any time. Lockheed is also quite a source of Dragon information."

"It does not surprise me that you have a martial past, Dr. Carter."

"I'd love that, thank you," she says. "I have not yet met this Lockheed person. Is he a professor as well?"

"Indeed?" she says, her eyebrows raising. "What was the first clue?"

"Lockheed is the companion of Professor the Tick, and a dragon himself," Dream explains. "He belonged to Ms. Pryde before her murder."

He falters a bit, uncharacteristically before answering her second question. If he can tell what she is ... perhaps she can also tell what he is. And he is content with that not being entirely public knowledge.

"It is an air you have. The way you carry yourself," he says vaguely. "A compliment, I assure you."
