Jenny unlocked the doors, set out a bunch of coffee and a spread of fresh fruit, bagels and cream cheese, and croissants. Including a plate of chocolate croissants. Eating healthy all the time got boring, after all.

Methos comes in, snags a chocolate croissant, and kicks back on the couch. He looks like he's been working hard. No, really.

"Hey, Adam," says Jenny. She closes up her laptop and takes a large bite out of her croissant. "How's it going?"

"I'd ask you to remind me why I wanted to teach history, but you didn't know me when I made the decision. So I'll just whine and moan about writing lectures and tests and the like. How are you?"

Jenny laughed mid-bite of her croissant, and put her hand underneath her chin to catch any crumbs that might fall. She swallowed quickly, an amused look on her face. "You know, I was around," she said. "But that's okay. I'll just laugh at you instead. What made you think teaching was gonna be easy?"

"Yes, but you didn't know me. And teaching is supposed to be easy. Stand up in front of a class of respectful, *quiet* students and tell them what to think. Simple."

Jenny doubled over laughing, croissant in one hand and coffee mug in the other. "You're kidding, right? When were you brought up, the Middle Ages?" She shook her head helplessly. "Kids these days are anything but quiet and respectful. Doesn't mean they don't like you, but copping an attitude is pretty much par for the course. Especially around here, I'm noticing."

Methos snickered. "I teach medieval history, I wasn't raised then."

"I'm not the weirdo expecting modern kids to be quiet and respectful," said Jenny. She shook her head. "You blame me for asking what the heck era you're from?"
