Faculty Lounge, Monday, noonish

Emma had found her office, but as it did not yet have enough white furniture or booze, she'd quickly relocated to the faculty lounge. That might not have white furniture either, but it did have a sofa which she was currently lounging in while reading 'Betty Crocker's Cookbook'. Every once in a while she picked up a red pen and made comments in the margins. A cup of tea was steaming happily on the table beside her, and her fifth attempt at muffins were piled up on a tray. They were probably not poisonous.

John blinked and looked at the woman closer. He hadn't had anyone reply to his unspoken thoughts since the last time he talked to Missouri. "Psychic?" he asked.

"Telepathic," Emma replied. "And my muffins are not demonic! Take that back," she demanded. It was possible that she'd spent a little too much time with students.

"Generally, it's considered rude to go rummaging through other people's thoughts," John pointed out.

"Ah well," said Emma, waving a hand dismissively. "Technically I didn't, and anyway, it's also rude to call my deli-- my muffins demonic!" Even Emma couldn't bring herself to call the muffins delicious.

Yeah, that was pretty much the reaction he got from Missouri when he pointed out the rudeness of thought reading. "If we're getting technical, technically I didn't call them demonic. Only that I'd never live it down if I got possessed by a demonic muffin." And boy, didn't that sound silly when said outloud?

"And by that you implied that my muffins were demonic," Emma pointed out. "Or at least one of them."

"I've seen stranger things."

Emma hesitated. She had seen many strange things in her life, but... "Stranger than a demonic muffin possession?"

John nodded. "What's the old quote? More things in heaven and earth? Throw in hell, and it's pretty accurate."

"I never thought I'd say this, but you must come from a world even stranger than mine." Emma was a bit shocked by the concept.

"Guess that would depend on where you're from," John replied. "I'm John Winchester."

"Emma Frost. And I'm from a world of mutants, heroes and villains, oh my."

"I'd say it would probably be on a par. Where I'm from it's demons, zombies, ghosts and other bumpy things in the night. And hunters to deal with them. Though most people don't believe in the former and think the latter are lunatics."

"We have those as well," Emma said, since she didn't want to be outdone. "Although I have never seen any zombies..."

"Haven't been to Caritas yet, haven you?" John asked dryly.

Emma shook her head. "I went to the place with half-price on alcohol for teachers. Why?"

"The Caritas House Band are zombies," John said. "Devil's Nest on the other hand is just run by Lucifer." He paused. "The Lucifer."

Emma entered his mind briefly to see if he believed what he was saying. He did. Emma blinked and withdrew. "...This place is much stranger than I had expected."

"It really is," John confirmed. "There's also a ghost trapped in the local brothel, if you're doing the full supernatural tour."

"Ah, that would be this 'Sin', correct?" Emma recalled the name she'd picked up from the bakery boy.

John nodded. "That would be the place." Somehow he wasn't surprised Emma knew of it.

"This really is a most interesting place," Emma mused, and sipped her tea.

"It'll keep you hopping," John agreed.
