Faculty Lounge, Monday, noonish

Emma had found her office, but as it did not yet have enough white furniture or booze, she'd quickly relocated to the faculty lounge. That might not have white furniture either, but it did have a sofa which she was currently lounging in while reading 'Betty Crocker's Cookbook'. Every once in a while she picked up a red pen and made comments in the margins. A cup of tea was steaming happily on the table beside her, and her fifth attempt at muffins were piled up on a tray. They were probably not poisonous.

Aly hadn't been to her office yet, but she wandered up to the school to make sure nothing had been burned down or completely changed over the holiday. She entered the teacher's lounge, somewhat surprised to see so many people, and headed over to get a cup of coffee.

"Afternoon, all."

Emma looked up from the book again. "Hello," she said politely. "There are muffins if you want."

Surely, someone would eat the damned things?

Aly glanced at the muffins and made a quick calculation based on the fact that she had seen Alanna attempt to cook many, many times. "No, thank you. I ate just before coming up to school." She smiled at Emma. "New teacher, I take it?"

"Emma Frost, Home Economics," Emma nodded.

"I'm Aly," she replied. "I'm teaching a class on revolutions this term. Oh, if you have a redhead named Alanna in your class? I would worry. She tends to accidentally poison oatmeal."

Emma frowned in thought. "I don't believe I have. I have an Alec and an Annette..." She flicked to the back of her book, and showed the class list (http://carbontelepath.livejournal.com/2235.html) to Aly. "Anyone on the list I should look out for?" or prepare to give mental orgasms?

Aly looked at the list and snickered. "I had several of these students last term. They all did well. I can't speak for how well they cook though. Jamie Madrox ended up cleaning the dorms a few times last semester because of his antics."

"At least he should have experience in cleaning, then," Emma pointed out. She glanced at her list. Jamie Madrox... Now why did that name sound familiar?

"Very true," she agreed with a tiny smile. "At least you know he can empty trash cans."

"You can never tell when that kind of skill might come in handy," Emma noted, smiling back.

Aly couldn't help laughing. "You need a teach a lesson where the skill is needed. An obstacle course or something."
