Someone looking into the lounge might think that Vala was being conscientious--she was writing industriously on a legal pad, cup of coffee and something called a doughnut by her side.

The first page was covered with notes from her lecture the day before--mostly about places to rob and possible accomplices. Not that Karal person, obviously, but her class had a number of nice prospects in that regard.

Each page under the top one had a name of one of the locations, the valuable items noted by the students, and any possible drawbacks, including security.

Cairo was still looking pretty tempting, though.

Vala put a little sway in her hips as she walked, "You can't call yourself a god and not meet expectations. That's just false advertising."

"Never let it be said that I'm not a god of my word," Ares said, still focused on Vala. Well, parts of her.

"I'd certainly never tell an entire galaxy if you weren't."

Of course she would. Possibly on the bow of a stolen ship and every frequency she could find.

Ares laughed. "I doubt that's going to be an issue."

"If I had a dollar for every time I heard that..."

"You'd be a very rich woman?"

"Exactly!" She slowed down until her pace matched his, since she didn't really know where she was going yet. "Not that I'm in it for the money, of course."

"Of course not," Ares said. "And I have no doubt that any man who tried to suggest such a thing would soon find himself less of one."

"You are quite the charmer, aren't you?"

Ares reached for Vala's hand, intending on doing the old kissing the hand thing. Ladies loved that. "I do my best."

Vala let him take her hand. It was an old move, but she appreciated the gesture.

"You're not without charms of your own."

Like breasts. Mmm...boobies.

"I wasn't sure you'd noticed," she said, though that was a lie. Of course she'd noticed him noticing. What else was black leather and cleavage for?

"How could I not?" Ares asked. "They're so...charming."

"I'm so glad you like them." Yes, they were talking about her breasts now, but they'd given up on subtle, and really, what was the point of pretending?

Considering a Greek god's idea of subtle, blunt was a very good thing, really. "I'm sure I'll like them even more, once I've had the opportunity to appreciate them more fully."

"Just as a random warning? If you mention the name Aeryn, I don't care how well you're appreciating...okay, that's a lie, but I'll leave right afterwards," she told him.

"Oh, I assure you, Miss Sun would be the furthest thing from my mind." Well, except in the 'wouldn't it be fun to have a threesome' sense, but no need mention that just yet.

"Good," she slung an arm around his waist as they walked.

"I aim to please." Ares was only too glad to return the favour. Of course, his arms being longer meant his hand ended up somewhat lower than Vala's waist.

Vala wasn't minding that. Again with the handsome man, god, whatever, in black leather. "So, been here long?"

"Since the start of the year."

"Start any good wars lately?" Not that she cared, but it filled the time until they got back to his place.

"Nothing spectacular," Ares replied. "But I do like to keep my hand in."

"How does that work, anyway? You just wave your hand, and instantly there's a war?" Not that she was thinking about privateering, of course. "And do you do interstellar, or are you strictly local?"
