Teachers' Lounge, Friday All Day

Aly puttered into the teachers' lounge fairly early. She made coffee and set out the doughnuts she'd picked up (NOT MADE) from J, GOB. Also she hung up a sign on the wall saying "SIGN UP TO RUN STUDY HALL"

There were open slots for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, then either Saturday or Sunday depending on the teacher's preference. Next Monday was already filled in as Aly had helpfully signed up Constable Fraser.

Content with the placement of her sign, Aly sat down at the table with a cup of black coffee, a doughnut, and a heartwarming tale of a very disturbed serial killer, ready to answer any questions.

[OOC: Here's the scoop, and you can assume the teachers have received email, flyer, notification of the usual manner. We're going to start (restart for some of you) Study Hall which will run every other day and one of the weekend days. Each week, a post will go up for the teachers to sign up to run (put up the post, be around for general interaction) Study Hall for the next week.

But even if you're not running it, all teachers are encouraged to go to Study Hall when they/the player has time to interact with students, other teachers, etc in an informal manner. This is going to replace the the mentoring program that was in place last spring. All teachers are still completely free to keep up those mentoring relationships and establish new ones as they and the students feel fit, but this will give us all an opportunity for even more and varied relationships and the opportunity for incidental interactions between teachers and students instead of the formality of 'going to an office.'

I'll even put in time-based OCD.

The coffee's still hot and Aly's partaking to the fullest extent. Also she's amused by the novel.

Fraser walked in, spotted the sign and his name and frowned in confusion.

"Was I here earlier?" he asked the only other occupant of the room.

"You must have been," Aly replied with a grin. "Coffee?"

"I'm pretty sure I wasn't," he said and tapped his name. "And yes please, thank you."

She poured him a cup of coffee which might have been indication in itself that she was asking things of him.

"Here. Cream, sugar," she pointed to their respective places. "I don't know how that could have gotten there otherwise. But it is very kind of you to volunteer to run the first study hall of the semester."

He took the coffee and was quiet while he added the cream and sugar. And then, mug in hand, he turned towards her and asked, "What's study hall?"

"Well, from the name I would assume it is a place where people study," Aly teased. "Every other day or so teachers are going to open that big room downstairs for students to come, study, get help on their homework, hang out, all of that stuff." She grinned. "And it looks like you get to do it first!"

"Yes, but I'm quite perplexed as to how my name got up there," he said, voice light. "Because I've not been in here at all for a few months."

Aly looked sweetly at him. "Maybe it was just obvious how much you like to help the students."

"While I do enjoy helping the students," he said and looked at the writing, "and that's a very good imitation of my handwriting, it's not quite right."

"Why not?" she asked easily, looking anything but guilty.

"I tend not to link the B and the F to the rest of the letters," he explained, pointing at the linked letters in the imitation signature.

"You also don't remember signing the paper," Aly pointed out. "I think the judges can conclude you might not have been in your right state of mind and so inclined to change your normal writing habits."

"Yes, but I can prove that I've not been around this area," Fraser pointed out. "And you have."

"Huh," she said, flashing him a grin. "Want a doughnut?"

"Were you being sneaky this morning?" Fraser asked while nodding a yes.

Aly offered him the box so he could have his choice of the fine selection. "Obviously I wasn't," she teased. "Or you wouldn't be asking me that question."

"Because I wouldn't know," he filled in, taking a doughnut. "Because when you're sneaky, there's no way to tell, right?"

"I like to think so," Aly agreed. "But I have been proven wrong in the past."

He nodded and took a small sip of the coffee. "So, since I signed up, is there anything I should know beforehand?"

"If you wear your hat, I'd expect a lot of girls to show up," she teased.

He blushed and said, "Oh, stop. I quite doubt that."

Aly raised an eyebrow. "Oh, I'm going to enjoy stopping by and seeing you proved wrong," she grinned. "Want to bet on it?"

"Bet that girls come to study hall just to see me and my hat?"

"Sure, why not," she asked. "Though, I think you still owe me the terms of you trying to make me blush." Aly smirked. "Unless you doubt you can and are trying to gracefully get out of the idea."

"I'm not the only one who owes terms," he pointed out. "And I would never back out of a bet."

She paused for a second, thinking. "If I win, you have to come in and help me teach a class."

"Fair," Fraser said, nodding. "I accept. If I win, you have to sing a medley of songs of my choosing at Caritas."

Aly laughed. "Now I'm thinking mine wasn't nearly embarrassing enough," she teased.
