Teacher's Lounge, Wednesday Morning

The students were not the only ones that needed a break from the stress of finals and graduation, and so Ghanima set herself up in the teacher's lounge, large boxes of moddable goodies from JGoB on the tables. Her work for the semester was done, but that didn't mean she couldn't share.

Teachers needed sugar too, darn it.

Minsc's expression soured for a moment. "Not until Friday," he said. "I've got the long wait, I'm afraid!"

"Yes," Minsc agreed, since it was hard to disagree with something like that, "but that means there's less time left to actually write that exam..."

"Write the exam?" Ghanima asked. "I made mine play board games. If they don't know the material by now, well, I'm not going to pass them if they somehow fumble their way through a test."

"I thought...." Minsc looked a little stumped for a moment. "There's supposed to be tests, aren't there?"

"Most teachers do, I believe," she replied. "I had them play chess, to see what they'd learned of strategy, to see how far they'd go to win if everything was on the line."

"Or perhaps I was simply too lazy to write an exam." Ghani's smile was impish. "That's also a possibility."

"Ah, chess!" Minsc nodded with approval. "That's one of Boo's favourite games! But, I don't know. Writing a final exam seems a good balance; it's just as painful for them to take it as it is for me to write it!"

Ghanima laughed. "I suppose it is," she agreed. "The students deserve a little bit of torment after we've worked so hard on the lessons all semester."

"And the two of you ought to come to my office sometime, then. My brother and I often play, and it would be interesting to see what Boo makes of our games."

"Well," Minsc said, modestly, and with a slightly nervous rub of his hand against the back of his thick neck, "I wouldn't count on it, Lady Ghanima. I'm not much good, and Boo takes for. Ev. Ver to make his move."

Not to mention that several of his chess pieces were now a little misshapen, thanks to a lot of nibbling.

"Practice makes perfect," Ghanima replied. "I think you most likely underestimate your own talents, but I'd enjoy the company, no matter your skill level."

And now Minsc's hand moved to the back of his head, perhaps inspiring more inquisitive minds to wonder if the baldness wasn't natural at all, but simply the end result of Minsc having simply talked to women and tried not to be nervous over his years.

"Perhaps then if the summer doesn't seem too trying or eventful, I shall have to try..."
