Teacher's Lounge, After First Period, Wednesday [ 05/13 ].

It wasn't so much that Daisy had just grossly overestimated how much five teenagers could eat, really. It was just that she'd really gotten into a thing about it all last night when she was preparing for the class, and then rather hoped her class consisted of five miraculously ravenous teenagers. Unfortunately, it did not, they all seemed to have very normal, modest appetites, so there was a considerable amount of leftover...and healthy...goodies.

Well, she figured, teachers needed to eat as much as kids did, so once class wrapped up and she had some time to wait before Loki's did too to go bug him about how it went, she'd go and just leave them all in the lounge with a little sign imploring them to eat up, and, if they didn't, she was going to start thinking there was something wrong with the world if a person had trouble getting others to eat free food.

[[ open, of course, for teacherly types! ]]

And of course where there was coffee there was also a Gibbs zooming into the room to get said coffee.

"Morning," he said popping off the lid of his coffee cup.

"Already ate," Gibbs said eying the food. "Coffee is just fine. What's all this for anyway?"

"Gibbs," he replied as he poured his coffee. "So you're the home economics teacher?"

"Well that's mighty good of you," Gibbs said slapping the lid to his cup back on and taking a sip. "What do you do normally then?"

"Is that free food I smell?" Mitchell asked, sidling into the lounge with a friendly expression on his face.

"Brilliant," Mitchell said, going for the spread with some good-natured, cool enthusiasm. Sharing food - also a human trait around here, it seemed. "You're one of the teachers as well?" he asked, as he helped himself, and tried to identify her accent.

There were a lot of variations of British, though; Mitchell himself was Irish with a hint of Bristol that had crept in over the years. He took her hand with a smile, and shook it. "I'm Mitchell," he said, "Nice to meet you. I'll be teaching kids about television."

Tim paused a moment before stepping across the threshhold. He was still kinda feeling weird about the whole teacher thing.

"Wow this is like finally being old enough to go into that one room in the house that kids aren't allowed into."

"Last time I was at this school I was a student. It was off limits, this room."

"Thanks very much. I'm Tim Desmond. I'm running the storytelling workshop."

"Food!" Vince exclaimed, having wandered his way in. "Brilliant."

[identity profile] likeabeachball.livejournal.com 2009-05-13 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, that's just silly," Vince said. "A pretty girl like you could hardly eat all this. You'd get bloated like a balloon."

"Oh, not like a full ballon. Like a balloon on a stick," Vince said. "You know, like you get at carnivals and village fetes."
