Free Period for Teachers -- Monday, October 24th

Sarah sprawls across the couch, a thick notebook in her lap. She keeps looking down at it and staring hard as if she's trying to bore holes through the paper through force of will, then letting her head fall against the back of the couch and making a strange growling sound.

There's an Italian buffet for anyone who wants something to eat.

Dean Bristow helps himself to lasagna.

[She smiles at him, helping herself to lasagne] How are you today, sir?

"Fine, thank you. I trust that classes are going without incident?"

[identity profile] prof-cregg.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes, for the most part. With such a diverse group of students, issues are bound t come up. Certainly nothing I can't handle. Mr. Harkness is back to his old, charming self. Miss Mars trusts me enough to discuss her problems from detention. And Miss Bristow was kind enough to bring a doctor's note to class for her absence. All in all, pretty much high-school-normal. [She takes a bite]

((ooc: I don't think it's come up in class that Sydney is his daughter. She talked about her father, but didn't really mention it))

"Sydney. What was the problem with Sydney?"

[identity profile] prof-cregg.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure that's a private matter between she and her doctor, sir. I don't pry. [she sips some coffee] I'd assume it was an OB visit though. She's coming along. I may have to find a table and chair for her because soon she won't fit in her desk.

"Of course, her... concern. However, if anything does occur with Sydney, Professor Cregg, I would ask..." He pauses. "Please contact me. My daughter is very important to me."

[identity profile] prof-cregg.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[Her expression falls, jaw dropping, and a blush creeps into her cheeks] Sydney...is your daughter? Sir, I apologize if I was overly casual. I didn't realize... Of course I will keep you informed. She's a fine girl. Quiet, but a good student. I had no idea...we discussed family and she never said...

[clears her throat] Absolutely, sir. I'm certain there won't be any worries, but if there are I will contact you immediately.

"Thank you. And please, don't treat Sydney any differently for her connection to me. I wouldn't treat her any differently than any other student if she was in my office, and I don't expect you to."

[identity profile] prof-cregg.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course not, sir. I treat all my students equally. They earn my respect...just like everyone else. [she smiles softly at him]

"Thank you, CJ." He returns to his lasagna.

[Her eyelids flutter for a moment at his use of her first name, then she recovers] You're welcome, sir.

((and for the timeline, now she talks to Grissom. FUN! Thanks!))
