"Guess this means I'm learning, then?" Josh laughed. "Strange place you folks have here. And I say that having seen more of rural Indiana than could be considered strictly necessary."

Ten is tempted to hum the dueling banjos theme from Deliverance, but doesn't. "Mr Lyman...even I think this place is weird. And I was in the Bay Area in the 60s."

"Good to have that as a reference," Josh said with a grin. "Um, not that was there or anything, but I've heard stories."

He cleared his throat. "And speaking of weird, has your phone been kind of..wacky...this morning?"

"Actually...I keep getting messages from people that I didn't call. Or see recently." Ten looks confused. "Maybe the system is buggered."

"I've gotten a lot of calls from strangers," Josh said. "And way more information about the sex lives of people I've never met than I'm ever going to need in my life."

The Doctor tries not to blush as he realises... "Oh, shite."

Josh quirked up an eyebrow. "I'm betting I don't want to know. Am I right?"

"You really, really don't. Really."

"Got it. Moving on." He looked at the man. "I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name."

Ten smiles as if he knows something Josh doesn't. "The Doctor."

If Josh thought the Doctor's name was a bit on the pretentious side, he didn't mention it.

"A pleasure," he said.

"Likewise. I've heard a lot about you and your coworkers. Most of it good, though some of it was truly inspired ranting."

"Well, all of the nice stories were true," Josh said. "The rest was vicious slander."

"Of course!" Ten grins at him again. He likes this Josh.

"Well, you know CJ," Josh said with a huge smile. "Nice girl, except for the chronic lying."

Ten's smile only falters slightly. "Comes with the whole press gig."

"That's true. Turns out I'm not so good at her job." Josh blushed slightly. "Don't ask her about that, though. Because you like me now and after that story you'll think I'm a complete idiot."

"Not that you're not so good, more that she's just very good." Ten looks a bit sympathetic. "And we all have times that we screw up, believe me."

"Pretty sure she never came up with a secret plan to fight inflation," Josh muttered.

Ten shrugs. "Don't wallow in it, Mr Lyman. Believe me, I know the consequences of that all too well."

"Oh, not wallowing, Doctor," Josh replied. "Just preparing myself for the inevitable mocking that will occur when I actually run into CJ."

"I'll tell her to give you a respite for a day or two. Let you get your bearings...I'll remind her of what happened her first month here." He smiles at Josh, an honest smile.

"Ooh. Potential ammunition." Josh's eyes lit up. "Do tell."

Ten shakes his head. "I don't want to sleep on the couch for the rest of the month."

"Why would you..." Josh's eyes went wide. "Oh. Oh! Sorry. Hi. Nice to meet you. In a completely different way."
