Alpha 5 has set up several laptop computers all around the lounge for teachers to check in on the progress of their class signups.

"Wow, Magical Theory filled up pretty darn fast," said Jenny, who'd signed in on her own laptop. "Neat."

Ten kicks back with his own PowerBook and begins to type and eat a muffin at the same time. "Well, it's definitely something that could be considered important to know, around here. Good for you." He smiles at her.

Methos comes in, snags coffee, and peers over the Doctor's shoulder. "Oh, Gods, I forgot to put a class limit on. I'm going to end up with thirty students in each class."

Ten leans back and looks up at him with a (ever so slightly sappy) smile. "You're screwed, old man. Long time, no see."

"Be flattered," Sara comments with an amused grin. "Means you didn't frighten them off when you were working in the library."

"Back where I come from too, but there? If you don't get the knowledge from your family, you're pretty much screwed," said Jenny. "Your classes filling up well?"

"Just one, and no. But I didn't expect it to...has a prereq, and quantum physics scares most beings out of their wits."

Josh, after turning the wrong way down two hallways and ending up in a room that seemed to house nothing but old gym socks, finally found the teachers' lounge.

Giving Biff a slightly terrified smile, he opened the door and nodded at the two strangers inside. "Hey there," he said. "I'm Josh Lyman."

He walked over to a laptop. "This the way to check how class sign-ups are going?"

"So you're Josh Lyman?" The thinner man looks incredibly amused by this. "And aye, it certainly is. How's Donna?"

Josh clicked on some buttons, grinning to notice that his classes had been filling up faster than CJ's. "Donna's fine," he said absently.

Then paused.

"Wait. How do you know about Donna?"

"You and I have a mutual...friend." Josh receives a large grin. Nothing Ten enjoys more than being deliberately infuriating.

"Jenny Calendar," says Jenny, waving at him. "You guessed it. You're teaching--U.S. History, right? And politics?"

"That's me," he said with a grin. "And I know that there's a lot of talk about the declining state of American education, but how is it possible that I'm the first person to teach this stuff here?"

"Gotta say, there is a pretty eclectic mix of subjects here. But I'd think U.S. History would be mandatory. Most states require it." She shrugged, looking perplexed. "I only got hired about a month and a half before the end of last term. There might have been someone around before you, but random disappearances are kind of a way of life around here."

Oops. That came out before she realized it probably wasn't a way of life for anyone not from here or Sunnydale.

"Don't worry. Biff only attacks students if they enter the lounge." That probably wasn't reassuring, but Sara isn't quite caring.

"Huh. Good to know." He rubbed a hand through his hair. "Doesn't it bother anyone else that it's a giant pink teddy bear?"

He didn't. But he's still here and waves cheerfully, if a bit slyly, at her when she comes in. "Did you get my call?"
