After Shop, Mac opens up the lounge and brings in some fresh coffee not from class bagles, muffins and doughnuts.

He then kicks back on one of the sofas and reads the most recent issue of "The Daily Bugle".

Eighth comes in and sits down, feeling a bit nervous before her first class this evening.

Mac waves at the teacher who he hasn't met before but looks somewhat familiar.

Eighth's jaw drops and she feels lightheaded for a moment. "Jack?" she says, nervously.

Mac blinks a couple of times in confusion. Figuring the teacher may have heard something that sounds like his name he decides to gently correct her. "No. It's Mac or MacGyver. Whatever you feel comfortable with. And you are?"

She flinches and then puts on her most charming smile. "Ah, so sorry, I got momentarily confused. I'm Samantha Carter, pleased to meet you."

Mac gives a confused look. She does look like his TA, but the same name?

"I'm sorry, what did you say your name was?"

"Samantha Carter -- oh! You must know Sam, don't you? She's a dear, isn't she? We're very distantly related but everyone can see the resemblense. I'd say that she named after me but that was just a silly coincidence," Eighth says very quickly.

A look of understanding crosses his face. "I see. Yes I do know Sam, she's my TA for Shop Class. Very nice girl and extremely helpful. Don't know what I'd do without her."

Eighth beams at this. "She's probably the smartest girl in her class."

"She certainly knows how to think on her feet," Mac says with a grin. "And she works very well with the other students. You should be very proud of your... uh... relation."

She nods. "So, Mac -- you," and it finally dawns on her, "you're Jenny's boyfriend, aren't you?"

Mac smiles and absently rubs the back of his neck. "Yeah we just started dating not too long ago. She conviced me to try a new hairstyle and it just kind of took off from there."

"That's so nice to see colleagues able to date ach other without troublesome frat regs. Jenny's such a great friend to me -- I sure hope you're good to her!"

"Well I try. That's the important part right?" Mac asks with grin.

"So tell me Samantha, what do you teach?"

Jenny grins and waves at Eighth before she refills her coffee.

Eighth waves back. "We going shopping sometime soon?" she asks with a grin.

"Absolutely," says Jenny. "I've got classes 'til two today. Or we could do it tomorrow. Gotta say, it's been a while and I need to buy something besides the computer equipment strewn all over my apartment."

Being dead for eight years? Meant you didn't have so much stuff when you got back.

Her ears perk up at the thought of computer equipment strewn everywhere but she subdues her cravings. "Maybe tomorrow?"

Jenny grins. "Are you into computers and just not telling me about it?" she asks. "I mean, come on, you had Cyborg Theory last term; that does seem to indicate a bit of interest in computers. So tomorrow? Works for me. I don't have any classes."

"I... am very fond of computers, Jenny," she admits vaguely. "And yes, tomorrow should do fine. What time?"

"Thought so," says Jenny, smiling. She's got her laptop packed up right now, or she'd start showing it off. The concept of gigabytes of hard drive space being affordable still makes her happy. "Late afternoon, maybe? Say, two or three?"

"Fabulous. Anything in particular you want to look for?"

"Not really, no," says Jenny. "Maybe some new clothes. I moved here in a rush, so my wardrobe's kinda limited."

"Sounds lovely," she replies.

"The limited wardrobe?" asks Jenny. "Not so much. But the shopping's gonna be fun."
