Teacher's Lounge: [1/16]

Susan opened up the Teacher's Lounge, and left a selection of muffins and bagels for the teachers. Might as well get acquainted, so they'd know who to send the problem students to, if needed.

She stopped, frowning at a magazine someone had left on the coffee table.

People? Must be American. But who on Earth was J-Lo?

CJ who completely spaced she's signed up for mondays this term and it was only last week she did it omg comes in, blushing but extremely grateful someone picked up her slack.

The muffins were becoming depleted, but there were still several bagels left. "Hello. I'm Susan Pevensie, the new school Counselor." Wouldn't it have been more convenient if she'd put up a sign by the muffins, possibly? "Welcome to the feast."

"Susan, I'm CJ. I teach speech and communication here. Welcome to the school." She smiles brightly and extends her hand ignoring the food.

Susan smiled, and got to her feet, shaking C.J.'s hand. "Pleased to meet you. This is my first day. I've been introducing myself to everyone as they wander in for refreshments. It's a slow day at the clinic, so I thought it would be allright, even though I'm not faculty."

"I don't see why it would be a problem. And food is always an ice breaker around here." She snatches a bagel, noticing a lot of crumbs. "You look like you've been popular. Who have you met that I should warn you about?" she asks mischeviously.

"Oh, let's see: Adam Pierson, he seems quite pleasant. Always good to hear a British accent, too." Susan smiled, then frowned in consideration. "Daniel Jackson, who really should have stayed in bed, poor man. He's looking peaky. Autolychus, the art teacher, Samantha Carter, who's stunning, isn't she? Camulus, who I'm afraid... shocked me a bit. And oh, Josh Lyman." Susan grinned. "Feel free to gossip at will. I would love to know more about them."

"Well, let's see. Adam teaches history. If you need on his good side, give him beer. Daniel is phenomenally smart, and he's the sweetest guy ever. He used to be my neighbor. Sam Carter's also freakishly smart. She seems sweet, although I don't know her too well. The art teacher I haven't met, and I've never actually met Camulus either. Josh Lyman?" she laughs softly and shakes her head, "I've known him for years. You'll despise him or love him...no in between."

"Adam was quite helpful, and Daniel shouldn't be here today. Poor man is quite peaky. The art teacher seems... interesting." Susan refrained from commenting on Camulus, not quite up to tackling that yet. "And Josh was very charming," she admitted. "Although I'm sure he was disappointed in my lack of knowledge about American politics. I barely follow Great Britain's. Residency does that to you."

"I think right now you'd do well to follow the school's elections and call it good. So where did we pull you away from, Susan? Someplace more normal than here, I hope."

"Consulting psychiatrist at St. Genevieve's Sanitarium in Wales. It's a private facility for emotionally disturbed adolescents and younger adults." She smiled ruefully. "And it was interesting, and certainly normal enough, but the work situation had become rather frustrating of late. I was thrilled to be invited to be a counselor here. Little did I know what I was letting myself in for. Are there school elections going on? I saw a few posters, but I didn't stop to read them."

"Yes, student council. We held them last term, but with all the...unique...things that go on, we had to redo them." Enigmatically, she blinks and smiles. "They did let you in on that, right? Being unique?"

"Oh, yes. Vampires, witches, gremlins, and Geoffrey Chaucer. I'm still trying to believe that last one. Good lord, I have no idea how I'd cope with being displaced in time by five hundred years. He must be an amazing person to actually teach here, on top of that."

"Geoff is wonderful. His office is next to mine and he's an excellent poet and kisser. Don't mention the Tales though..he hasn't written them yet." She grabs a cup of coffee and sips it. "And if you think that's amazing, just wait. Every single day will bring a new shock."
