Faculty Party - Friday Afternoon

Lorelai was grateful that Bucky took a nap for part of the morning. It gave her plenty of time to transport food from the diner to the teacher's lounge.

She got everything set up and even decorated the lounge so it would be a little more festive. Since it's Lorelai, that means she hung up some balloons and streamers and covered everything with glitter.

Everything was ready in plenty of time and she was sitting on one of the couches giving Bucky a bottle, waiting for people to start showing up.

"Quite true," he admitted with a nod. "Seems most of the faculty comes from very diverse and, sometimes, unique backgrounds. You are the first former spy I've met."

Aly bobbed a curtsey then winked. "Hopefully I live up to your expectations?"

"I've no expections," he said and smiled again. "At least, not of your former career. And I have the highest respect for all teachers at this school. This is a very...unique place to instruct."

"That's a relief then. Otherwise I'd be worried you'd expect me to be either James Bond or Mata Hari," Aly said mischieviously. "And I am certainly neither." She nodded. "I'm learning that quickly. Makes it interesting though, I should think."

"Interesting and challenging, yes," Fraser agreed. "I don't even instruct and this is one of the most challenging places I've ever been employed at. Rewarding though. And Diefenbaker seems to enjoy the attention."

"If for no other reason than the fact that my mother is a student here, I have to agree," Aly said with a nod. "Diefenbaker? Is that this fine fellow?" She gestured to the Husky.

"Your mother is a student here?" Fraser's having to repeat a lot today. "And yes, this is Diefenbaker."

Aly smiled. "That's what I said. I'm not entirely sure how it works, but there it is." She bent down to offer a hand for Diefenbaker to sniff.

And Diefenbaker, enjoying all the attention, nuzzled into her hand. "I'd heard of time working oddly here but that might just be the oddest yet."

"I was expecting it at least," Aly explained, petting the dog. "But she's a bit more shocked, I think." She shrugged. "I was told it was important to come or I'd not wish to traumatise her too much."

Diefenbaker wagged his tail happily. "Is the adjustment not going well?"

Aly looked up at him. "I've been staying away from her. Seems the kindest thing to do."

"I'm sorry to hear that," Fraser said sincerely. "If there's anything I can, please don't hesitate to ask."

Aly continued scratching Diefenbacker behind his ears. "Thank you. I hope I won't have to ask, but if necessary I will."
