Faculty Party - Friday Afternoon

Lorelai was grateful that Bucky took a nap for part of the morning. It gave her plenty of time to transport food from the diner to the teacher's lounge.

She got everything set up and even decorated the lounge so it would be a little more festive. Since it's Lorelai, that means she hung up some balloons and streamers and covered everything with glitter.

Everything was ready in plenty of time and she was sitting on one of the couches giving Bucky a bottle, waiting for people to start showing up.

[wait for ocd have at it!]

Aziraphale chuckled. "I expect I could stand to take that class myself. Half the time I have no idea what the students are talking about. Some of the other teachers either, for that matter."

"Have you been here in Fandom very long?"

Aziraphale smiled at the baby. "Congratulations then, my dear, to you and your husband. I don't believe I've had the chance to visit the diner yet, but I've only been back in town a couple of weeks. I'll make certain to do so, James and I are always looking for places to go."

"Oh." Aziraphale looked around the room, and then gestured toward Wilson. "James Wilson, he teaches here as well. We're, er...ah..."

He blushed. "Roommates."

"A little over a year and a half." Aziraphale still wasn't really used to talking about his personal life, and so he tried hard not to look too nervous. "He's a doctor. Have you, ah, always been a teacher?"

"Do you know, I've noticed that the subjects you'd expect to find in a high school aren't really practical for this particular one. I was rather surprised to find so much interest in my own class. But it would appear that there are quite a few more students in Fandom with a connection to the art of divination than one might think."

Lorelai's mention of an inn had piqued Aziraphale's interest. "May I ask where your inn was?"

"Next time we're in Connecticut, we'll be sure to stop there then," Aziraphale replied with a bright smile. He'd never heard of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, but it sounded nice. And he liked inns.

"No...not really," he said slowly, in reply to Lorelai's question. "I, er...used to run a bookshop. This is my first attempt at teaching, actually. I'm bit nervous about it, but the students seem very nice."

"I don't believe I've met your daughter." Aziraphale frowned a little, not so much at not having met Rory, just at thinking about all the students he had yet to become acquainted with. It seemed like he'd been falling a little behind on the job last time around.

"But I shall have to keep an eye out for her now, and make a point of saying hello," he added brightly.
