Faculty Meeting - Monday Before Classes

There was food. There was coffee. Heck, there was even tea for those who couldn't handle the good stuff. There were also chairs littered throughout the room, a portable whiteboard with different-colored markers off to one side and Biff, of course, keeping guard.

Hades is here even though he got shot last night (he's fine, thanks for asking). Why aren't you?

[OOC: Faculty only, but come on down!]

Chuck entered, making a beeline for the coffee. He hadn't had any yet, and wasn't inclined to be nice until he rectified that.
Okay, so he wasn't inclined to be nice, period. But he could be less mean.

Josh, taking huge gulps from his own mug of coffee, smiled. "You're the new history teacher, right?" he asked. "I'm Josh Lyman. US Government."

Chuck tried to focus through a sleep haze. Thinking seemed beyond him, but he gave it a try.
Government was a good thing.
Chuck liked government.
Thus it was still a good thing.
Chuck nodded. That was something of a train of thought. It'd do.
"Chuck Noblet," he replied, barely forming coherent words. "US History."

Josh raised an eyebrow. "If you're looking for stronger stuff," he said, pointing to the coffee pot, "the Perk in town makes a cup of coffee you could use as rocket fuel."

He might be exaggerating. He might not. Fandom made it hard to tell.

Chuck poured out a cup and gulped it straight down. Feeling slightly more human, he started on a second cup (more slowly this time) and rejoined the conversation.
"The Perk? I'll have to check it out."

Josh nodded. "I'm a professional political staffer. I know good coffee." He took another sip from his mug. "What brings you to Fandom?"

"Flatpoint High- the last school I taught at- burned down. The school hadn't been making money so school district, in its infinate wisdom, decided to build a strip mall." Chuck looked less than enthused. "Seems no one told them that schools aren't supposed to make money."

Josh choked on his coffee. "They turned the school into a strip mall?" he repeated. "What is wrong with people?"

Chuck gave a shrug and sipped his coffee. "Administration. What can you do?"

"Around here, the answer is 'cower in fear at the guy who's head is on fire,'" Josh hissed. "What the hell?"

Chuck's eyes widened, and he nodded. "Exactly. Demons, magic and-" Chuck was having trouble accepting the fact that Hades was a real God, so he went with, "combustible vice principals were certainly not in the job description."

"Or giant teddy bear bodyguards," Josh added. "And sometimes slime comes out of the ceiling for no apparent reason."

Chuck sighed. "It'd be too much trouble for this place to be normal, wouldn't it?"

"It wouldn't be Fandom, then," Josh said, finishing off his mug of coffee and refilling it before the meeting began.
