Faculty Meeting - Tuesday Before Classes

The food was there, the guard teddy bear was there, the coffee was there. Everything was set. Hades was fidgeting.

"So, uh," he rubbed the back of his neck. "Here's the thing. The school board is coming to visit next week and they can shut us down if we don't show 'em a good time, so try not to be your usual charming selves."

Vader tilted his head. "You're allowed to sell the students? No one told me that."

(Hmm, how to explain the fourth wall to someone...)

"I have a date!" Ah, the topic change. What a nice way to go.

"You have a date?" Vader repeated. "Congratulations?"

Most people didn't exactly open up to Vader about their personal lives. Go figure.

That little fact would shock Wade. Vader always seemed like such a nice and caring... okay he was evil, but he was a fun evil.

"Now I just have to survive the monsters driving today."

"I threw three of them into detention," Vader said, sounding almost pleased.

"Maybe I should start doing that," Wade said, stroking his chin like villains do in a situation where they must think something over.

It's in the handbook.

"It's cathartic," Vader said, then paused. "Why do I have a sudden urge to cackle maniacally?"

"Might be because we're discussing fiendish plans for the students," Wade offered. "Or, it might be because you're having a nervous breakdown and need to laugh like a villain in a Bund movie to keep from going mad."

That second one was a little closer to the truth than Vader was prepared to admit.

"My master is the one who does the laugh," Vader said. "I'm more of a...lurker."

Nervous breakdowns were fun! ...when it wasn't you, that is.

"Really? I'm more of a 'wander around oblivious to the danger I'm in and ramble about how attractive Bea Arthur is until the hero gives up and leave me alone' kind of person."

Vader had a sudden mental image of trailing after the Emperor babbling about Bea Arthur.

He didn't snort, but it was a close thing. "Is it effective?"

"Sometimes," Wade replied. "Mostly it serves as a distraction while I'm stabbing them in the liver."

"I'll have to keep that in mind," Vader said dryly. "My galaxy is sadly Bea Arthur-less."

Deadpool put his hand on Vader's should to comfort him. "And a sad horrible world that must be."

Vader slid a little to the left, just out of hand's reach.

"For a number of reasons," he commented. "Do you extra pictures of this...vision of a woman? I know a group of people who could use the inspiration."

Maybe it would get the Death Star built faster.

"Not on me, sadly," Deadpool replied. "I can get you some if you wanted!"

Then his eyes narrowed.

(Vader better not try to kidnap Bea and take her to his galaxy.)

"What is it?" Vader asked, sounding bored.

"Nothing, nothing..."

(I'll be watching this one.)
