Faculty Meeting - Monday Lunchtime

There was free food! There was the dartboard with Jamie Madrox's face on it! There were comfortable chairs! There were too many exclamation marks!

What else would you want?

The last faculty meeting of the academic year is now open.

"I have no idea what you're referring to," she replied with a grin. "A hat? Really?"

"Don't mess with me, woman, I haven't had enough coffee yet," he said, giving her a smacking kiss on the cheek. "Hat. There. What gives?"

She snickered and gave him a kiss back. "It's almost noon. How can the two pots so far not be enough?" She held up the hat like she was surprised. "Oh, this hat. It's Benton's. Somehow I ended up with it after the game show thing on Thursday."

"Somehow," Josh repeated. "Uh-huh. Am I going to have to get a guy to declare war on Canada now? That seems like a lot of, you know, effort."

"I was planning on giving it back!" Aly protested. "I wasn't bringing it just to taunt him...though that might be funny."

Fraser arrived sans hat and looked over the array of food that seemed to be present.

Wilson checked in after he wrapped up his final.

Followed closely by Aziraphale, who was trying hard not to look like someone had stolen his puppy, now that he'd completed his last class of the semester.

Wilson paused a step and waited till Phale had come up beside him and then looped his arm through his lovers and gave the angel's elbow a squeeze.

"Cheer up," he advised with a smile.

With a little smile of his own, Aziraphale nodded.

"I know, love," he replied, holding onto Wilson's arm. "But I'm going to miss them. Even the ones who aren't going anyplace."

He gave Phale's arm another little squeeze but knew better than to try to cajole or logic talk his lover out of his stolen puppy mood.

"How about, we head home...catch a nap, I'll make something light for dinner and then we can go down to the Nest tonight, get a couple of drinks, pester Lucifer if he's in and dirty dance on the dance floor?"

Well, Aziraphale had to admit that the idea of a mid-day nap and a bit of dancing later did perk him up a bit. His smile was a little more in earnest this time.

"I think that sounds lovely, James. Thank you."

Josh gave them both a bright smile and a wave. "I just have to give 'em an exam and then some of them leave!" he said excitedly. "Marty Blank will never again tell me about the evil oppression of the government!" He practically vibrated in his seat. "I need a muffin."

Aziraphale blinked at Josh, and completely misconstrued the man's reactions.

"Oh, it'll be all right, my dear!" he exclaimed reassuringly. "Most of them will be staying the summer, or coming back next year. And there's always the special events for alumni. I'm sure that all your students will take care to look you up whenever they can come to visit. Especially Mr Blank."

Josh's face fell. "They're not leaving? Why won't they leave? Do I need a sign like Blair's? 'Move home now! Free food, fewer gremlins!'"

"I, er...why won't who leave? Have we been invaded again?"

Because surely Josh couldn't mean he wanted the students to leave!

"Would you like a cup of tea, Mr Lyman? I find that usually helps cheer me up."

Josh looked at him liked he'd been dropped on his head. "Why. Won't. The. Students. Leave. Already," he enunciated very clearly. "They. Bug. The. Hell. Out. Of. Me."

He smiled. "And I drink coffee, but thank you."
