Faculty Meeting - Friday Morning [04/18]

With the end of the semester on the horizon, there was time for one more faculty meeting. The lounge was set up as usual, with various kinds of pie, as well as juice, coffee, and tea. Happy teachers didn't destroy their students during their finals, after all.

Bond was enjoying his pie. It was terribly good pie after all.

Well now, if it wasn't her new friend the driving instructor. Ghanima drifted over towards Bond, smiling. "Mr. Bond. Nice to know I'm not the only one who finds pie to be an acceptable breakfast food."

If he didn't figure it out, different face aside, she would be sorely disappointed in her ability to gauge people.

Bond quickly ran though a mental list. "Ms Atreides," he said with a smile. "Taste, intelligence, and beauty. You have quite the hat-trick."

"Well now, intelligent, witty, and good taste in pie," she responded smoothly. "I'm not the only one with many talents."

"Have you thought of a final for your students?" Ghanima asked, glancing over the rest of the room. "I must admit, I'm not one for standardized testing, but I have my doubts about how much some of them have actually learned."

"You'll find I'm a man of hidden depths," Bond replied, although hopefully she wouldn't find all of them. Or most of them, really.

"I'm afraid that I've already used the no-win scenario for their mid-term, so I am still in the process of sorting everything out."

"Were you a man of no depth, Mr. Bond, I would be greatly disappointed."

"A 'no-win scenario'?" Ghanima smiled in amusement. "There's always a way out, it simply depends on what you consider a 'win'. Unfortunately, there aren't many dead-man-walking scenarios for mythology to drop my students in. I could make them have a mock-trial of some sort, contrasting current celebrity with mythological figures, but I'm afraid the point might go right over the heads of a few of them."

"I should hope never to disappoint on that front then."

"I think most students would consider running over a classmate or crashing a no-win," Bond said. "Especially when the odds have been stacked against them, so that crashing is actually inevitable.."

Pie! Ghanima took a seat on one of the tables, happily enjoying her pie. Zoe always brought the best ~~bribes~~ treats to the staff meetings.

Nathan grabbed a cup of coffee and relaxed.

Fraser bypassed the pie but did go for some coffee.

Juli? Had coffee. And was planning on having a lot more of it.

Mohinder took a glass of juice, drinking as he mulled over his choice of pie.

Mike skipped the pie but took a cup of coffee.

Vala was good with pie, but was also contemplating bringing in something to fix the coffee next time. Needed more kick.

"Congratulations on almost completely surviving the semester. We still have one big event left before graduation: prom is next Friday, and that means we need volunteers for chaperones. It isn't a tough job. All you really have to do is make sure no one gets into a fight, and try to keep alcohol and small animals out of the punch bowl. I'll pass around a sheet of paper for anyone who wants to sign up."
