Staff Meeting, Friday (After Classes) [09/26]

Zoe was so very glad that she was back to her old self today, not wanting to think about how strange it would be to run the staff meeting while looking like a man. She was hoping that everyone else was all right as well, so things wouldn't be awkward. At least, no more awkward than they were at the last meeting.

The fact that Zoe had purchased foam bats and innocently left them out on the table while everything else was being set up was just a sign that she was hoping any remaining awkwardness could be worked out somehow.

"We are setting a good example. We're refusing to give up," Ghanima replied. "It's not my fault that my idea of a good example doesn't exactly match up with other people's."

"Persistence in the pursuit of one's goal is a virtue, after all," Bond agreed. "How else do they expect us to teach some of our students?"

"Tenacity in the face of opposition! Rising to the challenge, as it were."

Ghanima looked out at their coworkers and shook her head. "I have to wonder if the latest bits of insantiy was the island's attempt to teach the teachers. In the last week, I have sat as judge over my own students, and been a male. Ironically, it is also the most social I've been in, well, awhile."

Since Faith and Renee left, actually, not that she would admit to it.

"Exactly, we're showing them how it's done so once they're out in the real world it won't know what hit it," Bond said, nodding seriously.

"I can't really blame you for a lack of sociability," he added. "Considering the consequences of my last few attempts at that." His glancing around for hidden liquor became a bit less casual thinking about that.

"Were there unforseen consequences of our meeting at the Perk yesterday?" Ghanima teased lightly. "I shall have to make it up to you."

"Perhaps I'll found a club, like the students have. Only mine shall be for teachers, and we shall meet once a week to drink, eat pizza, and enjoy being in the company of other adults. That should, in theory, let us socialize without fear of the world coming to an end."

"All except the last, I should have said," Bond corrected himself. "As really the only thing unforeseen there was waking up with breasts."'

He grinned. "If you happen to need a faculty advisor, I believe I know where to find one." He could do some teasing of his own.

"Really?" Ghanima looked around, intrigued. "Do tell. I would be most pleased to make their acquaintance, and see what sort of ideas we could dream up."

"Oh, I know him quite well," Bond replied as if butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. "Very charming and inventive fellow I'm told."

"Oh good, I like the inventive ones," Ghanima said happily as she sipped at her tea. "They're usually adventurous enough to come up with the truly interesting ideas, especially the charmers."

"I'm sure he'd be delighted to hear that," Bond said. "Especially coming from someone with as devious a mind that you seem to have."

He considered that a compliment.

Ghanima considered it one of the highest compliments possible, really.

"You'll have to introduce us," she practically purred with amusement. "I look forward to seeing what sort of trouble we could hatch up."

"For our club, of course."

"Of course," Bond agreed. "It would be wrong to consider hatching up trouble for any other reason."

"Not wrong," Ghanima mused, "there's nothing wrong with a healthy bit of trouble, it keeps us from getting complacent. But perhaps a bit naughty."

"Oh, definitely naughty." You could tell from Bond's tone that he really disapproved of any sort of naughtiness. Really. Yup.
