Teacher's lounge Monday
Jeff's was utterly cleaned out yesterday, so everythign is really fresh this morning. Doughnuts, pastries, bagels, and a lovely selection of savory breads. Coffee and soft cheeses are also on the table. Except for the hours she teaches, CJ's in the lounge switching between the different news channels and CSPAN to see the ongoing brouhaha over the SOTUA.

"Good morning, Gil! The sundried tomato, olive and rosemary is really good with the chevre."
Grabbing the remote, she mutes the talking head.
"How've you been?"

"Better if we had a different administration," he says, gesturing toward the TV. "I've been well, how are you?"

Grissom shakes his head, and then turns to CJ. "It's good to see you back to your usual self, although I have to admit teenaged you did have her charms. And I saw the food in the kitchen. I told you, you didn't have to do that."

She tears off a bit of bread that she's been holding on to and chews it slowly.
"Has anything weird happened to you since you got here Gil? Or does the beetle paste keep the weirdness at bay?" she says with a small grin.

"Besides the large phenomena we've all become accustomed to - bloodthirsty snow monsters and murderous vampires and zombies and helping my students build real space craft and meeting DEATH? A few things..."
He shifts a little in his seat, and looks very interested in a fleck of basil on his bread.
"I may have been brainwashed by an Egyptian sex goddess," he says rather quickly. "Oh, and one time I got pretty high not ventilating an experiment properly."
He's trying to change the subject, although he's not particularly good at it. "It helped to feed the gremlins. They were rather friendly, for gremlins, when plied with sweets. I think that helped. Avoid some of the more common problems."

He blushes just a slight bit, framing his beard with a light pink. "It was about a month or so after I arrived. I don't recall much of the incident, although I know I made an ass out of myself spouting off Byron and foolish romantic nonsense, and eventually Parker had to hit me over the head with a rather large atlas before I did anything... inappropriate."
"Not one of my shining moments."

although he was totally turned on by Rogue's sexy black leather gloves, so he's a big fat hypocrite."And Neruda may have been appropriate if I was in a more sensual mood, but apparently the part of my psyche she must have accessed that day was slightly more dry...
So yes, my romanticism tends to take on the air of a bad greeting card. My secret is revealed," he adds sarcastically.

"No, but, it was difficult. But I've learned there are things that are even more difficult than a simple lack of control. So I wouldn't trade the experience in, I suppose."
He leans back in his seat. "How about you?" he asks, although he doesn't know if he quite has the right. "Has it been worth it, for you, to be in Fandom?"
