Faculty Party - Friday Afternoon

Lorelai was grateful that Bucky took a nap for part of the morning. It gave her plenty of time to transport food from the diner to the teacher's lounge.

She got everything set up and even decorated the lounge so it would be a little more festive. Since it's Lorelai, that means she hung up some balloons and streamers and covered everything with glitter.

Everything was ready in plenty of time and she was sitting on one of the couches giving Bucky a bottle, waiting for people to start showing up.

Third cup of coffee in hand, Wilson finally moved away from the pot and began to circulate around the room. For the moment he was taking note of faces he recognized -cause who could ever forget Lorne!- and the new faces he'd yet to meet.

Abby tsked at the coffe cup when she walked past. "Sludge, Dr. Wilson. Tasteless sludge. Are you sure you don't want to trade it in for some Caf-Pow?"

Wilson grinned at Abby.

"No." He said simply but it was with friendly, gentle laughter in his tone to soften the word, along with a wink.

"So...I told you, you'd be one of the first to know, remember? Class field trip, to Vegas."

Abby blinked and tugged on her ear. "Sorry, I thought I heard you say class trip to Vegas."

"That would be because you did." Coffee sip and there was pure mischief in those dark eyes of his.

He waited just to the point of squirm then continued.

"Aziraphale's Prophecy class and my Humor class, we're going to take them to Vegas in November for a field trip."

"Please please please please tell me you need another chaperone!" Abby fairly vibrated in front of him. "A cute gothy forensic chaperone?"

Wilson couldn't help himself and cracked up. Reaching out to touch Abby's shoulder he wondered if that boundless energy could be transfered in some manner.

"We're just starting to pull together all the information but it might be possible that we'll need added chaperones to keep an eye on the kids."

"Ah Doctor Wilson." Mary nodded to the gentleman who had stopped by her office. "How have you faired this first week?"

"Ahh, Miss Poppins!" Wilson said with a bright, warm smile. "A pleasure to see you again. I have faired, well enough we shall say. And yourself?"

"I can only imagine." Mary nodded. Being far too proper to muse out loud that being a teacher would involve less in the way of bodily fluids.

That question still made Wilson peek down to make sure he'd put on one of the Aziraphale approved ties and not one from his own questionable choices.

Looking back up, he smiled winsomely at the blonde woman.

"Thank you! I don't believe we've met, Dr. James Wilson."

"I'm Daisy, Daisy Adair." Daisy offered her hand. "I teach drama."

"Aaaaah, yes. I've heard of you, Miss Adair. It's a pleasure to meet you." He said reaching out to take her hand.

"How are you finding the first week of classes?"

"My students are actually quite intelligent, which I admit was a bit of a surprise. But tell me what you've heard. I'm very curious."

Wilson might have arched a brow but that could be due to the fact that he was very protective of the Fandom student body and felt they were all intelligent, even Shep...who had practically lived in the Clinic due to some rather unwise decisions.

He considered being a bit of a brat, since the question she laid to him reminded him sharply of what the Doctor had said when describing her but Wilson relented and instead answered,

"Good things, from the Doctor only, really. I was asking him about the dance competition and he mentioned you and he had been partners."

Wilson smiled, automatically at Aly because he liked her, then he remembered the whole brain breaky thing with Aly being Alanna's daughter but in grown up older than her mother form... and a braincell went screaming to it's death.

"Hello, Aly!" He said chipperly. "I am...getting my feet wet, that is for certain. How about yourself?"

If Aly had known about the screaming braincell dropping to a fiery doom, she would have apologised and explained that she felt quite the same way. But she didn't so she didn't.

"That's a good way to put it," she agreed with a laugh. "I enjoyed my class very much. Now to keep it up for the next however many weeks." And to keep people safe and Duke Roger from appearing. Right. All that.

"Very well, you caught me out. There is no 'they' really, that is just me being optomistic."
