Faculty Party - Friday Afternoon

Lorelai was grateful that Bucky took a nap for part of the morning. It gave her plenty of time to transport food from the diner to the teacher's lounge.

She got everything set up and even decorated the lounge so it would be a little more festive. Since it's Lorelai, that means she hung up some balloons and streamers and covered everything with glitter.

Everything was ready in plenty of time and she was sitting on one of the couches giving Bucky a bottle, waiting for people to start showing up.

Lorelai is looking forward to meeting some of the new teachers; most of the people she knew last year are gone now.

Deciding that it would be a good idea to move away from the wall and actually get out and talk to some people, Aziraphale approached the woman he thought might be their host for the gathering.

"Good afternoon, my dear. I don't believe we've met, although I think you must be Ms Gilmore-Danes, if I'm correct. I'm Aziraphale, the Prophecy teacher."

Hearing that there was a vast array of new staff, Fraser stopped into the lounge during the staff party to meet those who attended. Of course, he was in uniform and Diefenbaker was at his side.

With her cup of coffee in-hand, Roslin hovered around the periphery, watching and taking note of the various personalities in the room.

Third cup of coffee in hand, Wilson finally moved away from the pot and began to circulate around the room. For the moment he was taking note of faces he recognized -cause who could ever forget Lorne!- and the new faces he'd yet to meet.

Generally used to being the one hosting rather than mingling, Aziraphale took his mug of tea and found a quite corner to stand in, where he could people-watch without being too obtrusive.

Daisy figured she ought to at least make a show of paying attention to her fellow teachers, and thus arrived, fashionably late, of course, to the party.

Well, it was no Hollywood party, but she supposed it would have to do.

John spent a moment observing the other teachers as he sipped at his coffee. It had been a long while since he'd been to anything like this and he might have been feeling a little awkward. Not that he'd willingly admit it.

Janice had taken a seat in the corner of the lounge, where she could observe everyone without being snuck up on, and was eating her way steadily through her plateful of sandwiches as she watched the rest of the teachers mingle and chatter and whatever the hell it was they did.

It wasn't the teachers that got her on edge. It was all that damn glitter.

Susan got in late (very late) but did try to make it a point to find out everyone's names as she played wallflower. That way, at least she'd recognize them when they were chaperoning a dance together.
