Faculty Meeting - Friday Morning

As promised on the notices that went out to everyone on the staff, there was free food in the teacher's lounge, to entice people to come and stay for the faculty meeting - an assortment of pies, along with coffee and tea.

Yes, the dartboard with Jamie Madrox's face was still up. For therapeutic reasons, of course.

[OCD is done! I will be around again at 11am Eastern.]

Aly made her way around to Ghanima. "No revolutions this term?"

"Revolution by another name," she replied, smirking at the other woman over her mug. "It's called making them take actual notes. Shocking, I know, but a revolution all the same. Although oddly I haven't had any complaints yet."

"If you want to watch them revolt, stop by in a few weeks." Ghanima took a sip of her tea, eyes flaring bright blue with amusement. "I have a surprise for them."

She chuckled. "Notes? Good heavens, whatever travesty will you think of next? Oh? Just tell me the date and I'll be there. I enjoyed making mine dance this week. And sadly, there were only glares, no actual complaints."

"Dancing? You had dancing and didn't invite me? Aly, I'm hurt." Oh, the glee, the glee. "I'm assuming it was ballroom dancing of some type, and not club dancing. Otherwise I doubt they would be glaring."

"To be fair, I decided to make them dance about an hour before class," Aly replied, smirking. "And ballroom dancing, of course. All about learning to control their movements." She grinned. "Nothing at all to do with how much more amusing it was for me to make them."

"You were bored, weren't you?" It's not really a question, even if Ghani is pretending it is. "I suppose everyone needs a hobby."

Aly grinned. "Can't blame me for making one of mine torturing students. They do enjoy it so much."

"If they're going to emo about something, they might as well angst about actual persecution rather than imagined."

"I'm worried mine have been replaced with pod people," Ghanima laughed. "They're being well behaved, seem excited about the topic, and haven't yet caused property damage."

"Well behaved? Great Gods, woman, what kind of class do you run?" Aly teased.

"They must think I'm going to test them on it or something," Ghanima shrugged, "That's the only reason I can think of that they're taking notes in the first place."

"I had a student beg for extra credit," Aly said. "I couldn't quite bear to tell her I think grades are stupid."

"They either know it or they don't, and it will be rather obvious at the end of the semester if they bothered to learn anything," Ghanima replied. "Do you not believe in homework either? I don't like assigning homework. It wastes both their time and mine."

"I'm okay with homework as long as I don't have to grade it," Aly remarked. "Demonstrations on what they learned in class? Fine. But papers and stuff? Gods, no."

"Demonstrations are more than acceptable," she agreed, "As are reenactments of various events, or class participation."

"I'll admit, I hesitate to assign a paper or anything of that ilk, since who knows what sort of education they've had prior to this." Ghanima frowned, clearly concerned. "I had a girl in my last class, a lovely, thoughtful young lady, who apparently hadn't been to school before. She didn't know attendance was mandatory, no one had bothered to tell her. So I feel homework is best left out of the equation. Less work for me, less trauma for them."

Aly nodded. "There are quite a few of them. And even those who have, the schools vary more than a bit." She shrugged. "Plus there's the less busy work more actual interesting things to do aspect."
