Staff Meeting, Friday (After Classes) [11/21]

The teacher's lounge was set up for the staff meeting in much the same way as usual, except that, with the holidays approaching, there was a much wider ~~and moddable~~ selection of pies instead of other baked goods. Zoe had a feeling that people wouldn't mind.

Indiana grabbed a cup of coffee and settled down for the meeting.

Tyler took some blessed, life-giving coffee.

In the last 24 hours, he had been kidnapped, threatened with dissection, met his double, watched his double turn into a helicopter, and walked away from a helicopter crash. And then he hadn't slept.

He pretty much looked like a complete wreck.

Anakin tilted his head at Tyler. "Did a building fall on you?"

"No, but close," Tyler told him. "Helicopter crash. Don't know how I walked away."

Anakin hissed in a breath. "What were you doing in a helicopter?"

"I got kidnapped," Tyler said dryly. "I have a double who looks like a guy who" -- there was no way to explain this that wouldn't take half the meeting -- "is in some trouble in Tony Stark's world. Their armed services decided to grab me first, ask questions never."

"Charming," Anakin commented dryly. "They shot down the helicopter?"

"Actually not," Tyler said, thinking about it. "Pilot got startled and smashed the tail into something -- telephone pole, maybe?"

"It wasn't exactly his fault. There was a pretty impressive fight going on."

"People trying to get you back?" Anakin guessed.

"That was part of it," Tyler evaded. "Most of it was these two very large, very angry guys trying to throw each other into buildings. Eventually one stayed down and the other one ran away, but the chopper crashed before that."

"Sounds like a hell of a Thursday," Anakin said, shaking his head.

"Yeah. Just meeting my double would have been the highlight any other week," Tyler commented. "You ever had one of those? It's creepier than you'd expect."

Anakin wasn't about to launch into his run-ins with his clones, so he just shook his head. "So far I've been lucky around here," he said.

"Hope your luck holds, then," Tyler said. "Not that mine was a bad guy. The circumstances just sucked."

"Kidnappings and crashes don't lead to the best first impression," Anakin agreed. "It's good to see you're still mostly in one piece."

"I'm pretty happy about that," Tyler had to agree. "Thanks."

Ghani grabbed some pie and coffee, and found a corner where she could observe from.

Murdock was making cozy with a cup of coffee and a slice of pie.

There was coffee and so there was a Deadpool there. Just Irish it up a bit and he was one happy camper.

Anakin had coffee--decaf, since he was pretty sure Rory could taste caffeine--and a slice of pie.

He kept watching the apple one. If there was any left, it would definitely be disappearing home with him.

Struck by a bout of pie related indecision, Mohinder took a piece at random. Mmm, probably-apricot.

Nathan savored a good hot cup of coffee as he waited for the meeting to start.

The almost inseparable trio of the past few weeks was whittled down a number due to Rosie actually going to spend her day at the Gig today, but Minsc and Boo did not seem to mind, as there was food to be enjoyed.

Anakin approached, holding out a package of frozen meatballs. "I kept forgetting to drop these off for you," he said.

Minsc looked a mite confused for a moment as he took the meatballs from Sir Anakin, but then, almost as clear as if there'd been an actual light inside his bald head, it occurred to him what it was all about.

"The Swedish meatballs!" he declared. "Of course! A great many thanks; they look to be quite scrumptious!"

Anakin grinned. "Enjoy."

"We will!" Minsc said with a decisive nod, wondering if Rosie liked meatballs. As long as they weren't Swedish fish, he should be in the clear! "I take it, then, that your quest to the Ikea was a successful one, Sir Anakin?"

"It was," he said, nodding. "I have an entirely different office now. And a new door."

"Did an unfortunate fate befall your door?" Minsc asked, marveling, for a moment, on how the door to his own office was shockingly still in tact...even if nothing else that had been in the room really was.

"It had my grandson go through it," Anakin said, nodding. "The poor door."

There was a bit of a smirk. "Strong young chap, I take it?"

Minsc couldn't imagine Anakin's grandson being too old, considering the age of the young man himself, but that sort of thing never stopped, say, a troll.

"Something like that," Anakin said blandly. "I was...disciplining him."

Weird family.

"...I am thinking," Minsc decided after a moment, "that a bit more explanation is required if I am to understand the situation more clearly."

"He's decided to turn evil, so I showed him the door," Anakin said. "I forgot the door was still closed."

No he hadn't.

Minsc took a moment to picture the situation in his head. The way he imagined it might not have been exactly the way it had taken place, but it was still surprisingly close, and he chuckled a bit.

"Well, any turn against evil," he stated, "is a good turn indeed."

Anakin nodded. "It was definitely worth replacing the door."

Fraser had contemplated skipping the meeting but his conscious won over in the end and he was there, quietly sipping some tea.

Mike helped himself to pie. Lots and lots of pie since he wasn't sure how long it had been since he had a decent meal.

Edward was there, holding a cup of coffee. He was thinking of seeing that new vampire movie this weekend. Should be good for a laugh.

Bond was there, coffee cup in hand.

Miss Bennet poured herself a cup of tea and set about selecting a pie flavor.

"I'll be keeping this short today since I don't have much in the way of pressing business. I just wanted to remind all of you that because of Thanksgiving, there won't be any classes next Thursday and Friday," Zoe said. "Those of you with classes at the end of the week, enjoy your day off."

If anyone has anything else to bring up.

Not that it's needed, since all our students are angels!

Zoe was around if anyone wanted to speak to her privately.

Almost weekend time, yay!
