Staff Meeting, Friday (After Classes) [11/21]

The teacher's lounge was set up for the staff meeting in much the same way as usual, except that, with the holidays approaching, there was a much wider and moddable selection of pies instead of other baked goods. Zoe had a feeling that people wouldn't mind.

"No, but close," Tyler told him. "Helicopter crash. Don't know how I walked away."

Anakin hissed in a breath. "What were you doing in a helicopter?"

"I got kidnapped," Tyler said dryly. "I have a double who looks like a guy who" -- there was no way to explain this that wouldn't take half the meeting -- "is in some trouble in Tony Stark's world. Their armed services decided to grab me first, ask questions never."

"Charming," Anakin commented dryly. "They shot down the helicopter?"

"Actually not," Tyler said, thinking about it. "Pilot got startled and smashed the tail into something -- telephone pole, maybe?"

"It wasn't exactly his fault. There was a pretty impressive fight going on."

"People trying to get you back?" Anakin guessed.

"That was part of it," Tyler evaded. "Most of it was these two very large, very angry guys trying to throw each other into buildings. Eventually one stayed down and the other one ran away, but the chopper crashed before that."

"Sounds like a hell of a Thursday," Anakin said, shaking his head.

"Yeah. Just meeting my double would have been the highlight any other week," Tyler commented. "You ever had one of those? It's creepier than you'd expect."

Anakin wasn't about to launch into his run-ins with his clones, so he just shook his head. "So far I've been lucky around here," he said.

"Hope your luck holds, then," Tyler said. "Not that mine was a bad guy. The circumstances just sucked."

"Kidnappings and crashes don't lead to the best first impression," Anakin agreed. "It's good to see you're still mostly in one piece."
