Staff Meeting, After Classes, January 9

The teacher's lounge was once again set up for the staff meeting, with plenty of food and drinks, and one very glaring principal. ~~Mwahaha!~~

Minsc always loved these staff meetings. He loved anything where there was free food that you didn't even really have to worry about being poisoned.

For the most part.

Tyler took a large mug of coffee and picked at a muffin as he eyeballed the crowd.

Fraser poured himself a rather large cup of coffee. And he hadn't even heard today's business yet.

Far be it from Ghanima to pass up the chance to get coffee and tease her new coworkers! She grabbed a drink and a pastry before settling down in her favorite corner spot.

Anakin smiled at her. "I met your twin brother the other day."

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" she quipped, regarding him bemusedly from behind her cup of coffee. "If he was being difficult, you have full authority to beat him about the head until he behaves. I've found that it is often required for his well-being."

Loving sister. Really.

"He's fairly far down on my list of students to beat," Anakin said with a quick grin. "Once I got past him looking like my son's best friend, we got along fine."

"Ah yes, Mr. Darklighter," Ghanima replied, grinning. "Whom I met when Fandom decided it would be funny to make me male for a day. The similarities are remarkable, really. Desert-raised, pilots, with the same face. What are the odds?"

"Astronomical," Anakin said. "But your brother emerged from class detention free, which is more than I can say for all of my students."

Ghanima raised an eyebrow. "Assigning detentions already?" she asked. "That does not bode well. Who's the unlucky culprit?"

"Student named Van Helsing," Anakin said. "He annoyed me."

Horrors.

"Well if that's your qualification for detention, I think you'll be giving a lot of them out before the semester is finished," Ghanima replied. "Perhaps community service would be more of a deterrent, since most of them seem to regard the detention system as a joke?"

"The next time, perhaps," Anakin mused. "He called me condescending!"

Which he was. Details.

"Were you?" she asked curiously.

The universe spun on details.

Indiana grumpily came in with an armload of bananas and banana bread which he promptly added to the buffet of food.

He hoped to God someone would take them away.

In his pre-coffee state, Mohinder was largely oblivious to anything that wasn't high in caffiene. Once he had that he snagged a cookie before looking around the room.

Yzma paused dramatically in the doorway for a moment.

No crash of thunder.

Dammit.

Muttering to herself, she stalked over to the food.

Marshall was upset he got dragged away from Rumor Gal for this but, hey, free food. There ain't nothing wrong with that.

Anakin had found a spot in a corner where he sipped on a cup of decaf.

Rory could tell if he had caffeine these days.

Miss Bennet was having tea. It seemed like the sort of day where tea might be required, given how displeased the Principal seemed.

Algren was somewhat wary as he made his way into the room. Sure, tactics were his forte, and sure, he was fascinated by the people around him, but he never was good with staff meetings.

... Coffee, on the other hand...

Ronon only ever came to these things to consume the free food. Which he was doing, messily.

Great. More chances to meet the other teachers who he couldn't fire. Just what Jonah wanted.

He was eating a bagel.

Lily was totally here the whole time, mingling and hanging around. ~~The post certainly hadn't been missing from her flist.~~
