Staff Meeting, After Classes, January 9

The teacher's lounge was once again set up for the staff meeting, with plenty of food and drinks, and one very glaring principal. ~~Mwahaha!~~

"But if it is," Tyler put in, "aren't we all being punished for something you don't even know we did? I know we work at a high school, but we aren't students."

"Then it'll be a deterrent," Deadpool replied. "Heck, I'll even do a presentation if it'll getcha goin'."

At which Tyler gave Deadpool a look. "You are going to tell students not to use drugs."

He gestured a little at the red pajamas to illustrate the point he thought he was making.

"No, the hypocrisy would be if I told them not to kill people," Deadpool informed him kindly.

"I was thinking about incongruity more than hypocrisy," Tyler allowed. "Besides, I think more kids in this crowd have killed somebody than have smoked a joint."

"...true. Though I don't see how an assembly of that would go. The drug one is preeeetty common in schools, though."

"I think an assembly on not killing people would end in all of the students arguing about why they had to do it and it wasn't really their fault and they needed a hug," Tyler said, rolling his eyes a little. He didn't have much patience for sob stories.

"And yeah, DARE is standard. Does that mean we can't argue about it?"

"No, arguing is good!" Deadpool insisted cheerfully. "But no hugging. I refuse to hug anyone here and you can't prove I ever have."

A beat.

"Especially not the new chick," He said, pointing in Yzma's general direction.

Tyler followed the pointing finger. Sotto voce, he asked, "You sure that one's human?"

Considering how Deadpool was hiding behind Tyler now...

"We could always ask."

Pfff. Never gonna happen.

Tyler glanced up and back at Deadpool, clearly in no hurry to ask the question. "You guys don't do much screening when you hire, do you?"

"Do you think anyone would get hired if we did?"

That would be a no.

"... Christ, you'd have to go find people who had degrees and stuff."

"There's, what, three people on the island with those?"

Nate and Stark he knew for sure. Unless the backstory was wiiiildly different.

"I have one!" Tyler protested. "Just ... not in anything I ever taught."

It was in accounting. He'd had a really weird couple years.

Now he had to ask... "What is it in?"

"Nothing." And that was Tyler's cue to look at his shoes. "Accounting."

Said in roughly the same tone in which he would say "chlamydia."

"..." That was a look of horror and sympathy there. "We all do things we later regret."
