Staff Meeting, Friday (after classes)

The teachers had all been handwavily notified that there would be a staff meeting today, and while the alligators and their goldfish put a minor wrench into things, they weren't enough for Zoe to call the meeting off completely. She made sure that there were plenty of snacks and drinks, and there was a first aid kit out on the table as well, in case anyone needed a little care in order to stick around.

Sophie was looking distinctly and totally rattled. She's gotten halfway to the school before seeing a alligator spit a biting goldfish and then run the rest of the way. Still a little shaky about it, and sipping tea. Tea, damnit!

Veronica hesitated outside of the teacher's lounge. It was silly; she had been in there before and she was a teacher now, but it still somehow seemed wrong.

Though there was no sign of Biff, the giant pink teddy bear these days.

She helped herself to some coffee and a muffin.

Brennan was still in her lab coat and had barely set aside the goggles and gloves when she came down to the meeting. She was visibly impatient to get this thing over with, please.

Curses! Foiled! There was a meeting, which meant that the fighting of alligators had to be slightly postponed! Such great evils in the world, heavily burdening the great shoulders of Minsc & Boo!

The large man in the armour was antsy and distracted and thinking only of--

...oh, there were muffins?

...The meeting seemed not too terribly bad now. It wasn't like it could last forever, anyway, right?

Meetings weren't exactly Jasper's forte to begin with, so the fact that there had been alligators to deal with before coming here didn't exactly help, either. Sure, they were absolutely no match for a nearly indestructible vampire, and there were quite a few of them in an alley somewhere who would wish they'd dealt with someone else if they had the capability (which they didn't), but still. It left Jasper feeling significantly more ruffled than usual, his hair in a bit of disarray and attempting to smooth out his clothes. And, while he'd sustained on alligator blood before when doing battles in Florida, it was hardly appetizing when mutated, so it left him a little petulant and cranky, which he was trying to fix, so it didn't influence those around him. Maybe if anyone else seemed in a particularly good mood and was swayed by them...

"Good afternoon," Zoe started. "I won't keep you all here for long; I know many of you are probably eager to get outside or get home. I just wanted to take some time to welcome all of our new teachers, and to congratulate everyone on making it through the term so far. I know there are more entertaining things you all could be doing with your summers than running workshops here, and I want you to know that your work is highly appreciated. If anyone's run into trouble, come and talk to me or Deadpool so we can try to fix things up. If everything is going well, then we hope that continues. Thank you."

Even if she sat down and thought about it, Daisy probably wouldn't have realized that it wasn't exactly necessary to call in about missing the meeting considering she was practically hiding behind a blockade of successfully exterminated alligators.

So that would be Daisy, trying to give Zoe a ring once she was fairly certain she wasn't interrupting the meeting and when she was a little bereft on alligators for the moment.

Apparently, it also didn't cross her mind that, when the town was being attacked, the school principal probably didn't want to be bothered with calls.
