Staff Meeting, Friday Afternoon (after classes)

In order to check on all of the teachers once the first week was over, Zoe had sent out a ~~handwavey~~ notice for the semester's first faculty meeting. The lounge had been cleaned and set up with coffee, tea, and a variety of offerings from J,GOB to entice people to come - and to get them to stay, assuming Zoe's gaze didn't do the trick

"Do you think you need protecting?" Paige asked.

"Sometimes." He shrugged. "You think you could protect me?"

"Probably. Depends on who or what you think you need protecting from," she said.

"Just God," he said, shrugging. "He's about the only one that could kill me permanently."

"Right. Well, I could certainly try."

After all, she had been a goddess for a while. That was close enough, right?

"You don't have to protect me, don't worry," he said, snickering. "I haven't done anything bad lately so God won't be coming for vengeance."

Paige smiled. "Nothing bad lately? I guess that's good. Or possibly boring."

"I like this place," he admitted, shrugging. "I don't want to cause trouble. It's way more interesting than fucking Wisconsin and if I can stay here for a little while, I'd like to."

"Wisconsin? Why would you want to live there?"

"Wasn't a choice." He shrugged. "I did say I hadn't done anything bad lately. Once upon a time, I did and I got fucking banished."

"Ew, that sucks," Paige said.
