Faculty Party - Friday Afternoon

Lorelai was grateful that Bucky took a nap for part of the morning. It gave her plenty of time to transport food from the diner to the teacher's lounge.

She got everything set up and even decorated the lounge so it would be a little more festive. Since it's Lorelai, that means she hung up some balloons and streamers and covered everything with glitter.

Everything was ready in plenty of time and she was sitting on one of the couches giving Bucky a bottle, waiting for people to start showing up.

Aly wandered into the lounge with a smile for the other teachers. She took a second to put names to faces.

"Good morning," Fraser greeted. "I don't believe we met as of yet. Benton Fraser, head of school security."

Aly smiled at the man appreciatively then offered her hand. "I'm Alianne. I'm teaching the history of spying class."

"History of spying?" Fraser repeated. "An interesting choice in class. Is it going well so far?"

"I hope so," Aly replied with a quirk of her lips. "In the past I've more trained spies than taught students. But they all seem to be very bright and interesting."

"It's not everyday I meet someone with experience in spying," he said with a small smile. "From training spies to teaching is quite the leap."

Aly laughed. "On the other hand, would you know if you did? We aren't often known for our openness though in this world, and this setting, I see no reason not to be."

"Quite true," he admitted with a nod. "Seems most of the faculty comes from very diverse and, sometimes, unique backgrounds. You are the first former spy I've met."

Aly bobbed a curtsey then winked. "Hopefully I live up to your expectations?"

"I've no expections," he said and smiled again. "At least, not of your former career. And I have the highest respect for all teachers at this school. This is a very...unique place to instruct."

"That's a relief then. Otherwise I'd be worried you'd expect me to be either James Bond or Mata Hari," Aly said mischieviously. "And I am certainly neither." She nodded. "I'm learning that quickly. Makes it interesting though, I should think."

"Interesting and challenging, yes," Fraser agreed. "I don't even instruct and this is one of the most challenging places I've ever been employed at. Rewarding though. And Diefenbaker seems to enjoy the attention."

"If for no other reason than the fact that my mother is a student here, I have to agree," Aly said with a nod. "Diefenbaker? Is that this fine fellow?" She gestured to the Husky.

Josh knew he would've remembered the blonde if she'd been there last year.

Time to be slick.

"Hi," he said, giving her his most endearing grin. "I'm Josh Lyman."

It came off way more "Josh Lyman" than "James Bond."

Amused at the grin, Aly gave him a bright smile back and offered her hand. "I'm Aly. Nice to meet you."

Josh shook her hand, still smiling. "A pleasure," he said. "What brings you to Fandom? Did you lose a bet?"

"Actually that's closer than you might think," Aly laughed. "This is helping me win a bet. What about yourself?"

"I was told I needed to get out of my high stress environment and relax," Josh said, "so my Chief of Staff recommended here. He's an evil, evil man."

"Is this a convoluted revenge for something evil you did?" Aly asked, quirking an eyebrow and trying not to laugh.

"I didn't---he doesn't--," Josh gaped for a moment. "You know, it probably is. Revenge shall be mine. A box full of weetiny bunnies, first chance I get. Or dancing lemurs."

"These lemurs had skills," Josh said, grinning back, "but I'm open to suggestions."

"I keep hearing about these gremlins," Aly said slowly. "Or is that too much?"

Josh laughed. "I've only heard rumors, really. They brought in an extermination team early last semester."

"According to the radio, they performed in one of the school rooms the other day," Aly replied. "Perhaps extermination has faded in their minds." She grinned.
