Staff Meeting, Friday (After Classes) [09/12]

Now that the semester was underway, Zoe thought it might be a good idea to start regular meetings back up, and had handwavily informed all the teachers of when and where to be. There was pie, juice, coffee, and tea to keep them there in case they didn't want to stay at first.

Eliza was usually sufficiently self-possessed not to stare, but she wasn't expecting the gentleman wearing pajamas. She tried offering him a smile and returning to her tea.

Eliza nodded back at him. "Good day," she said. "That's an impressive fashion choice you're making."

"It does, at that," she nodded, taking in the extent of it. "Is it flame-resistant? Multipurpose? Or are you hiding your identity?"

Quite certain she'd gone mad, two weeks ago. It was almost refreshing once you realized that.

"A little from column A, a little from column B," Deadpooled replied, grinning at her. "I'm Deadpool, and you?"

"Miss Elizabeth Bennet, literature teacher," she said, bobbing her head slightly. "I was abducted by temporal forces en route to London, and none seem able to return me again. Is 'Deadpool' a title or a name?"

"Oh! You're Ronan's teaching buddy!" Deadpool grinned more. "It's a title and a name."

A beat.

"But I do have an actual name, but people I don't know don't use it so... Deadpool it is."

"That goes nicely with the secret identity," she said smoothly. "You're acquainted with Mr. Dex?"

They were all colleagues, but then, so were she and he, and they'd only met just this moment.

"There is rather a lot of it," she supplied cheerfully. "Though I would not have thought you one to cast disparagement on others' personal fashion statements."

"No, indeed," she said, her face as innocent as she could muster. "I'm rather impressed by your bold use of colour. Who else was admiring your suit?"

"No one who counts," Deadpool replied. "And why can't people appreciate my bold cultural statement of Canadianness?"
