Staff Meeting, Friday Afternoon (after classes)

The teacher's lounge had been relatively unharmed by the gremlins, which made it much easier for Zoe to get everything set up for the meeting than she'd been expecting. Today was a day of pies when it came to the baked goods, and there was the usual assortment of hot and cold drinks as well. Before she unlocked the door, Zoe made sure to check the room for gremlins one last time. She wasn't really up for taking chances today.

"Hey, Jim," Paige said, giving a little wave.

"Good afternoon And congratulations!" Jim said. "It's always good to see that a new teacher survived the weirdness."

Paige laughed. "Thanks. That actually wasn't all that bad. I knocked a couple out by TK'ing them into a wall and spent most of my time at Caritas to provide transportation if people needed it. I see you survived as well."

"I'm not sure about that. I saw things I'll never be able to unsee," Jim said, shuddering. "But I'm alive. So that counts for something."

"Definitely," she agreed. "And you weren't injured at all?"

He didn't look injured, but that didn't mean he wasn't.

"No, the only things that got hurt at my place were Barney's dignity and an empty hat box," Jim said.

"Barney's dignity?" Paige asked. "What, did they catch him in the shower or something?"

Oh, Paige, you will probably regret asking that.

"I don't think so," Jim said. "All I know is that I've never heard anyone scream like that while running out of a house before."

"He definitely strikes me as the type who isn't equipped to handle the invasion stuff," Paige admitted.

"I'm not sure anyone in the house is," Jim said. Well, maybe Bond. Probably Bond. "Some guy with a beard broke in and killed the gremlin, saving everyone."

"Nice," Paige said. "Where do you live?"

"18 Apocalypse?" Jim said. "It's Biff's house, if you've met him."

"I think I met him at Caritas," Paige said. "I'm right down the street at 33 Apocalypse with Jack O'Neill. Next time something happens, I can stop by and make sure you guys are all okay."

"And hurt our manly pride?" Jim asked with a smile. "Just try to be discreet about it."

"Discreet is my middle name," Paige joked.

"Is it really?" Jim asked. "Because it would be unique."

"Sorry, I'm not that unique," Paige said. "My sisters and I all have 'P' names, in fact."

It would be funnier if that were by accident," Jim pointed out.

"It's a family thing," she explained. "Grams was Penelope but she went by Penny. Mom was Patricia, went by Patty. My sisters are Prue, Piper and Phoebe."

"I'm beginning to think that my parents aren't half as organized as yours," Jim said thoughtfully.

"Apparently that was all Grams' doing," Paige said. "My sisters have a different father and I was actually adopted as a baby."

"Oh, wow," Jim said. "As stories go, that definitely beats trying to survive the pranks your brothers come up with."

"My parents had this whole forbidden love thing going on," Paige explained. "Long story. How many siblings do you have?"

"Two brothers, one sister," Jim said. "My sister's the only one who got an interesting name, though. 'Larissa.' Beats 'Jim,' 'Pete,' and 'Tom' by a mile."

"Yeah, you guys did end up with super normal names," Paige agreed. "Where do you fall in the birth order?"
